Greater Manchester is constantly developing and evolving. We’ve pushed the boundaries across all sectors and have a global reputation.  The new GMCA Group Chief Executive will continue to lead the delivery of our vision including trailblazing growth, working with the Greater Manchester Mayor, the Combined Authority members and diverse stakeholders to keep Greater Manchester world class.

We have secured the most significant devolution deal in the UK.  Our latest trailblazing devolution deal gives us new responsibilities, flexibilities and accountabilities for delivering whole system change across many functions, sectors and services underpinning and shaping Greater Manchester’s future success.

Our new Group Chief Executive will bring the exemplary leadership skills needed to succeed on the national and international stage. Political skills honed at the highest level, outstanding judgement informed by extensive  knowledge and experience, a  strong network of relationships that feed into all arms of local and central government, the bravery to lead and the gravitas to be heard.  Whilst adapting to the constantly changing dynamics of the market, political direction and national policy, our new Group Chief Executive will keep the GMCA moving forward, shaping new strategic priorities and ensuring delivery on our commitments to our communities.

We are looking for a senior leader who is passionate about local government – it’s dynamics, strengths, leadership, impact and potential – but is equally able to shape national agendas influencing government and being a voice where it counts the most.

Expectations are high. We need to keep delivering further and better outcomes for our communities, developing innovative solutions with our partners, shaping and challenging and at all times listening.
