We are a key asset to the region with a place at the top table of the Northern Powerhouse – essential to Greater Manchester’s growth plans – contributing over £9.6bn to the Greater Manchester economy.  We have significant input into devolution in the region, working with an elected Mayor. There are 23,000 homes to be built by 2031 and 1.12m square metres of new employment space. We are also at the heart of the commuter belt with Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly train station and major UK motorway networks on our doorstep. We are home to internationally renowned football and cricket clubs and 13,000 businesses. We are working with Lancaster University, Trafford college and other sector partners in establishing UA92.
