It’s a time of potential in the North East, and certainly for the three authorities north of the Tyne river. North Tyneside, Northumberland and Newcastle City councils have come together to form NoTCA with a principal aim to improve the prosperity and lives of all those who live in the area. The election of the area’s first Mayor means the organisation can now push on with a focus on inclusive economic growth and wider prosperity. With devolved powers and associated funding the combined authority can support business, skills, education and investment whilst also have an input into housing, transport and sustainable growth through green initiatives. There has been an interim team so far but now a permanent team is to be recruited. Initially we will be looking for a Director of Economic Growth to deliver programmes, and the Chief Executive’s key support, the Director of Policy and Performance. The Chief Executive role will also be recruited to on a different timeline. Information can be found in the Roles section – simply hover over “Roles” (top right in the menu at the top of this page) and look for the drop down menu.
